So I’ve really been thinking of what I want to plant this year seeming now I have a backyard! I don’t want to go crazy but I do want to plant what I know we will eat. So no experimenting yet. I drew out my yard and designed my own layout. I know exactly where everything is going and what supplies I have to purchase to create the look I want. There will be uplights integrated in this garden and some hanging plants along the fence. Also, I found two round stepping stones in the corner of the yard shoved in a corner among dirt so I will buy one or two more to create a small path. My goal is do this without spending a lot of money and re-using materials already available.
On my list to plant…..
- Summer Squash
- Potatoes
- Carrots
- Onions
- Scallions
- Garlic
- brocoli
- Cabbage
- Tomatoes
- Cherry Tomatoes
- Snap Peas
- Cucumber
- Bell Peppers
- Green Beans
- Red Leaf Lettuce
- Spinach
In my herb garden……
- Thyme
- Parsley
- Basil
- Rosemary
- Sage
- Dill
- Chive
- Cilantro
In my medicinal garden…..
- Lemon Balm
- Lavender
- Aloe
- Mint
- camomile
I think that is all for now. I have a game plan which I will be tackling it this weekend. I’m hoping there isn’t a lot of clay in our dirt as this is Texas. Otherwise I will have to research ways to make the dirt workable for planting. I’m buying some of the longer to harvest plants as a starter plant not seed to speed up my garden a little. OHHHH did I mention I’m doing this for less than $100 ???
Pictures to come!!!
Stay tuned…..
